Dr. Waqas Ahmed Mahar is an architect, urbanist, and academic. Currently serving as a Professor at the School of Art, Design and Architecture (SADA), National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Islamabad, Pakistan. His research focuses on sustainable architecture and urbanism, housing, human comfort, indoor environmental quality, climate-responsive design, and energy-efficient buildings. His work also explores building defects and rework, urban resilience, and the relationship between the built environment and human well-being.
Dr. Mahar has extensive international professional and academic experience, having worked as a registered architect in Pakistan, a housing manager in Malaysia, and a researcher and educator in Pakistan, Malaysia, and Belgium. His research integrates architectural design, environmental performance, and sustainable development to address contemporary challenges in the built environment.
